13 New cases of Mpox pushes national tally to 993

13 new Mpox cases has pushed the national tally of case count to 993 as of January 25,2026, the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has disclosed. The recent development reflects a steady increase in reported infections over recent weeks, raising renewed public health concerns.

According to the GHS, the death toll remains unchanged at seven, indicating no new fatalities associated with the disease during the latest reporting period.

Health authorities have indicated that Mpox spreads primarily through close physical contact with infected individuals, including skin-to-skin contact and exposure to bodily fluids.

Common symptoms of the disease include fever, headache, muscle aches, swollen lymph nodes, and skin rashes, which may develop into lesions.

The Ghana Health Service has urged the public to observe good personal hygiene, avoid close contact with suspected cases, and report symptoms early to the nearest health facility to prevent further spread.
