The Member of Parliament for Techiman South, Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah, has renovated the Asantanso CHPS Compound and donated medical equipment to improve healthcare delivery for residents of Asantanso and surrounding communities. The renovation is expected to enhance hygiene, ventilation, and dignity for both patients and health professionals at the facility, which serves more than 1,000 people.
The face-lift included the replacement of wooden windows with louvre blades, tiling of the labour ward floor, installation of ceiling fans, and other improvement works. Before the renovation, the facility had been in a dilapidated condition for years, making it uncomfortable for residents to seek medical care.

Mr Korsah said healthcare remains one of his key priorities, adding that the intervention forms part of a broader effort to renovate deteriorated CHPS compounds and health centres across the constituency. “Healthcare is one of my priorities. To ensure that my constituents live in good health, we have begun a programme within the constituency to uplift the situation of our health facilities to prevent avoidable health complications and the spread of diseases,” he said.
In addition to the renovation, the MP donated medical equipment and supplies to support effective healthcare delivery at the facility. The items include beds, ceiling fans, nebulisers, chairs, thermometers, weighing scales, bulbs, and Veronica buckets. Korsah explained that the items were provided based on the critical needs identified by the facility. “What you see is what they critically requested to improve their services, and that is what we provided,” he said. He assured the health facility that his office would continue to engage management and staff to provide additional support as and when the need arises.
The Municipal Health Director, Dr Kwabena Fosuhene Kusi, said the renovation would motivate health professionals working at the facility and improve the quality of care provided to patients. He noted that the poor condition of the facility had previously discouraged some health workers from accepting postings there. “People will feel more comfortable accessing care here, and our staff will be more motivated,” Dr Kusi said.
He expressed deep appreciation to the MP for the gesture, saying the equipment would further strengthen healthcare delivery at the compound.
The renovation and donation are expected to improve patient comfort, boost staff morale, and enhance access to quality primary healthcare for residents of Asantanso and its surrounding communities.
