Central Regional Minister Warns Against Misuse of Information Vans

The Central Regional Minister, Ekow Panyin Okyere Eduamoah, has cautioned staff of the Information Services Department against the misuse of newly commissioned information vans, stressing that they must be used strictly for official duties.

According to the Minister, the vans are intended primarily for disseminating government information and educating the public on national issues. He urged residents to report any instances where the vehicles are used for purposes outside their mandate.

Mr. Eduamoah gave the warning after handing over three information vans to the department in the region. He expressed concern over past incidents where state resources, such as ambulances, were diverted from their intended use.

He explained that the new vans are expected to enhance public education, improve the flow of government communication, and help gather feedback from communities. He emphasized that the vehicles are to support all government departments and agencies in their information dissemination efforts and should not be used for unauthorized activities.

The Minister further called on the public, particularly those in rural and hard-to-reach areas, to remain vigilant and report any misuse. He also urged the Information Services Department to adopt a strong maintenance culture to ensure the longevity of the vehicles.

Central Regional Director of the Information Services Department, Linda Bimpong Esq., welcomed the initiative, noting that the vans would significantly improve their operations. She assured the Minister that the vehicles would be used responsibly and strictly for their intended purpose.
