The Ministry of Education has warned students, parents and guardians against fake and digitally manipulated Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) slips being circulated on social media.
The Ministry said it had become aware of attempts by unscrupulous individuals to alter CSSPS placement documents and circulate them online, creating the impression that the ministry had changed students’ original placement results.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, September 9, by the Ministry’s Press Secretary, Hashmin Mohammed, he described the claims as false and misleading, urging the public not to rely on unverified placement information shared on social media platforms.
According to the ministry, preliminary internal verification has revealed that some of the placement slips being circulated do not correspond with records generated from the official CSSPS platform.
The ministry specifically noted discrepancies involving the barcodes and QR codes appearing on some of the purported placement slips.
It explained that the barcodes and QR codes on the documents do not match the placement information displayed on the same slips being circulated as evidence of alleged changes to students’ placements.
