GES denies releasing prospectus for 2026 BECE graduates

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has dismissed claims that it has released the prospectus for students who have just completed the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

The service said a list of items circulating widely on social media and being presented as the official prospectus for the 2025/26 academic year is not an approved document from GES.

In a statement, GES Management urged the public, particularly parents and prospective senior high school students, to disregard the circulating list.

“GES Management has not released prospectus for students. Kindly ignore any list of items circulating in the media,” the service said.

The clarification follows the circulation of a document bearing the GES name and logo, which lists items students are purportedly required to provide, including clothing, toiletries, bedding, stationery and other personal effects.

The document also contains lists of items for students in different programme categories and indicates that certain supplies are to be purchased through specified channels.

GES said the document should not be relied upon as the basis for preparing students for admission.

“The official and finalised prospectus shall be communicated in due time,” the service said.
