The District Chief Executive of Techiman North Adom Johnson has assured that bitumen will be laid on the road surface within the next three months. This assurance follows ongoing construction work on the previous dilapidated road in the area.
Addressing Muslims after Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at Aworano on Friday, March 20, the District Chief Executive for Techiman North, Adom Kwabena Johnson, reflected on the NDC government’s campaign promise to rehabilitate the area’s poor road network before the end of its four-year tenure.
He emphasised that in less than one and a half years, the pledge is already being fulfilled, underscoring the government’s commitment to addressing the pressing concerns of residents.
“You can see the contractor working on the Aworano roads, almost all the drains have been constructed, the bridges have been constructed, what is left now is the bitumen and hopefully from the conversation that I have had with the contractor within the next three months we should have the bitumen surface on the Aworano road” he streesed.
Adom Johnson raised concerns about how some motorists speed on the road. He called on motorists, drivers, passengers, pedestrians, and community leaders to exercise caution and encourage one another to use the road responsibly.
“It is early days yet to be calling for speed ramps, because that is not part of the contractual agreement and so we should be able to come out boldly and talk to these motorists so that they can slow down for us when they are plying the road” he noted. He assured that appropriate safety measures will be implemented after the road is completed.
The District Chief Executive also revealed that contractors have returned to the site to complete the Aworano clinic to enhance healthcare delivery in the area.
