Walk the Talk- NDC tells unsuccessful NPP presidential candidates

The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has extended a congratulatory message to the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) for a successful presidential primary. In a statement issued on February 1, 2025, and signed by its National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the party applauds the elephant party for conducting “a violence-free presidential candidate primaries”.

The statement also commended the Ghana police service for ensuring a peaceful election process. The party said it welcomes collaboration and participation of the NPP and all other political parties in the quest to strengthen and deepen democracy

It, however, urged unsuccessful candidates to walk their talk as stated in their concession statements.

The NPP on Saturday January 31, elected former vice president Dr. Mahamud Bawumia as its 2028 Flagbearer after securing a decisive victory with 110,643 votes representing 56.48% of the total votes cast. His contender Kennedy Ohene Agyapong placed second with 46,554 votes, representing 23.76%, followed by Dr. Bryan Acheampong with 36,303 votes representing 18.53%, while Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum and Kwabena Agyei Agyepong garnered 1,999 votes (1.02%) and 402 votes (0.21%) respectively.
