The Wa District Magistrate Court has convicted three persons over unlawful possession of firearms and ammunitions in Wa West District on Wednesday, February 18, 2026
In a statement released by the the Ghana Police Service said the three persons, namely Yiritang Boosi, Yahaya Samad, and Adams Alhassan, have been prosecuted and convicted on their own pleas and sentenced each to a total fine of Two Hundred (200) penalty units, equivalent to GH¢2,400.00, or in default, Nine (9) months’ imprisonment.
The accused persons, who had earlier been remanded in custody, reappeared before the Court, where His Worship Simon Kofi Bediako presided over the case. They pleaded guilty to the offences of possession of firearms and ammunitions without lawful authority.
