The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a public advisory outlining health guidelines for Ghanaians travelling to Senegal, urging travellers to take precautionary vaccinations ahead of their trips.
In a statement released on April 7, 2026, in Accra, the Ministry indicated that while vaccination against diseases such as yellow fever, DPT, measles, and hepatitis A and B is strongly recommended, proof of vaccination is not mandatory for entry into Senegal.
According to the Ministry, the advisory follows communication from Senegalese authorities aimed at safeguarding the health and safety of travelers.
The statement further encouraged all Ghanaian travellers to ensure they are medically prepared before departure, stressing that the guidance is intended to enhance their wellbeing while abroad.
The Ministry also reaffirmed its commitment to protecting Ghanaians travelling internationally and urged compliance with all health and entry requirements of destination countries.
The notice has been circulated to media houses to raise awareness and promote adherence to the recommended travel protocols.
