Fire razes Ajumako Ocheso Police Station in the Central Region

A devastating fire on March,10, 2026 has razed Ajumako Ocheso Police Station in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District of the Central Region. According to eyewitnesses, residents spotted thick smoke and flames, prompting them to quickly raise an alarm

Firefighters from Ajumako Enyan Essiam District were dispatched to the scene immediately after receiving a distress call 1319 hour. At the time of the team’s arrival, the fire had engulfed the entire building destroying its contents.

Due to its intensity, it took the team about three hours to douse the fire. No casualties were recorded as on-duty officers quickly left the scene.

District Fire Officer DO2 Kingsley Yeboah said the incident is still under investigation and they have yet to know the cause of the fire.

He also stressed the need for public institutions to adhere to safety measures including keeping fire extinguishers around for early response.

Authorities consider the building to be beyond renovation, urging the construction of a new station to restore operations in the area.
