Ayanfuri has been thrown into shock and mourning following the tragic death of Nana Kwabena Okyere, the Mmratehene of the Ayanfuri Traditional Area, during a funeral ceremony.
According to police reports, the incident occurred during the final funeral rites of Abusua Panyin Akwasi Kwateng. The chief reportedly discharged a pump-action gun under unclear circumstances, sustaining a critical gunshot wound to the abdomen.
He was immediately rushed to the Pentecost Hospital in Ayanfuri for emergency treatment but was pronounced dead on arrival.
