A new poll by research firm Global InfoAnalytics shows that 78% of National Democratic Congress (NDC) delegates are worried about the scarcity of job opportunities in Ghana. Thirteen percent of respondents said they are not concerned, while 9% indicated they are neither concerned nor unconcerned about the jobs situation.
Despite the anxiety, optimism about the future remains high, with 88% of delegates expressing hope that employment conditions will improve soon. Only 3% said they are not hopeful, and nearly 9% were unsure about how the situation will evolve.
The survey, conducted using random probability sampling and Computer Assisted Telephone Interviews (CATI), covered nearly 10,400 NDC delegates across all 16 regions between 31 March and 9 April 2026. According to the pollsters, the findings underline how job creation has become a central concern for the party’s grassroots ahead of the 2028 elections.
On internal party politics, the poll indicates that NDC National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia currently leads the race to become the party’s flagbearer. He is followed by Cassiel Ato Forson, Haruna Iddrisu, Julius Debrah and Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, all of whom are listed among key figures delegates see as potential leaders of the ruling party.
