GES Warns Public Against Fake Recruitment Ads and Appointment Letters

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has cautioned the general public against fraudulent recruitment advertisements and fake appointment letters circulating on social media, which falsely claim to offer employment opportunities within the Service.

In an official statement signed by the Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, the GES emphasized that while the Minister for Education recently announced plans to recruit 50,000 teachers and 10,000 non-teaching staff, the recruitment process has not yet commenced.

“When the official recruitment begins, it will be announced through the GES website, national newspapers, and other credible media outlets,” the statement noted.

The Service reiterated that all recruitment processes are completely free, and no individual or group is authorized to charge fees for job placement, processing, or issuance of appointment letters.

GES described the fake advertisements and appointment letters in circulation as fraudulent schemes aimed at exploiting vulnerable members of the public, urging prospective applicants to disregard them entirely.

Members of the public are encouraged to report any such fraudulent activities to the nearest police station for immediate action.

“The GES remains committed to transparency and integrity in all its operations and advises all stakeholders to rely solely on official communications from the Service,” the statement concluded.
