The persistent and growing strength of violent extremist organizations in the Sahel region, including Burkina Faso, Niger, Togo, Mali, and others, is significantly posing a security threat to Ghana and Africa at large.
To mitigate this threat, the Ministry of National Security has intensified its campaign on “see something, say something” as part of its broader efforts to address the security threats posed by violence and extremism in the Sahel region.
Addressing a gathering at Techiman South Metropolis on Friday, November 8, the campaign coordinator, Akosua Dankwa, emphasized the need for all individuals to be vigilant and report any suspicious issues that have the potency of undermining the country’s safety to the security agencies.
According to Campaign Coordinator Akosua Dankwa, security issues should be a top priority to every citizen, therefore, all Ghanaians should contribute their quota in fighting the common enemy.
She entreated the public against hosting a stranger without notifying the security agencies to avoid endangering their lives.
Akosua Dankwa stressed that security is a collective responsibility beyond political affiliation, hence urging all Ghanaians to contribute their quota in fighting the common enemy.
