The Upper West Regional Command of the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has arrested a 60-year-old ammunition and drug dealer, Abass Seidu, at Kundugu in the Wa East District.
In a post on NACOC website on Thursday, February 19, the suspect was apprehended on January 29, 2026, following a series of surveillance operations conducted by undercover officers at the Kundugu market in Wa East District and his stash house in Wa.
Operatives reportedly recovered three cartons of ammunition and tramadol concealed within assorted pharmaceutical drugs during the initial arrest.
A subsequent search of Seidu’s stash house at the Wa-Kejetia lorry station yielded seven additional cartons and 362 individual pieces of ammunition, alongside assorted foreign cigarettes. In total, authorities seized 2,626 cartridges of ammunition.
NACOC further revealed that Seidu had been supplying both local clients and individuals from neighbouring Burkina Faso.
The suspect has since been handed over to the Wa Municipal Police for further investigations and prosecution in court.
The Upper West Regional Command has cautioned the public against engaging in activities that could lead to criminal liability, urging citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies.
