The Eastern Regional Police Command has started investigations surrounding the circumstances on the alleged murder of a 16-year-old girl at Tinkong a community in the Akuapem North Municipality.
The young girl was reportedly went missing on February 14, 2026, after leaving home on an errand.
After days of search by family and community members, her lifeless body was discovered in a swamp in the community on Wednesday, February 18.
According to volunteers who assisted in the retrieval of the body, a deep cut to the back of the head was discovered on the naked body, which was allegedly dumped in the swamp by her assailants.
This bizarre incident has thrown the whole community into a state of fear, and they want the police to investigate and bring the culprits to book.
