The Black Queens of Ghana delivered a commanding performance at the 2026 Pink Ladies Cup, cruising to a 4–0 victory over Russia in their second match of the four-nation tournament held at the Al Hamriya Sports Club Stadium in the United Arab Emirates. This result marks the Queens’ second straight comprehensive win in the competition, following a 4–0 triumph against Hong Kong in their opening fixture — underscoring Ghana’s growing momentum as they fine-tune preparations for the imminent 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

Ghana set the tone early, threatening Russia’s defence within the opening minutes through an aggressive attacking approach. In the 8th minute, a well-worked team move culminated in Stella Nyamekye driving home from inside the box to give the Black Queens the lead.

Just nine minutes later, Doris Boaduwaa unleashed a powerful strike to extend the cushion to 2–0, and she added her second of the game in the 33rd minute, capitalizing on another incisive attacking phase to put the match out of reach before halftime. Although Russia struggled to regain control, Ghana continued to press, sealing the emphatic victory late in the 88th minute when Ajegipena Zakaria — celebrating her tournament debut goals — found the back of the net to complete the four-goal margin.

With eight goals scored and none conceded in two matches, the Black Queens have sent a strong message ahead of WAFCON 2026. Their aggressive style, tactical cohesiveness, and sharp finishing reflect a squad brimming with confidence and readiness for the challenges that lie ahead.

Their final fixture in the Pink Ladies Cup will see them face Tanzania later in the tournament, coinciding with Ghana’s Independence Day celebrations — a fitting stage for what promises to be another compelling display.
