President Akufo-Addo recently announced that his administration has delivered on 80% of the promises made in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) manifesto. Speaking during a tour of the Western North Region on November 5, he outlined several achievements, including significant improvements in education, health, infrastructure, industrial transformation, agriculture, and cocoa production.
One of the most impactful initiatives he highlighted was the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy, which was launched in 2017. This flagship program has expanded access to secondary education for over 5.7 million students, many of whom previously faced financial barriers. President Akufo-Addo described the policy as a game-changer in Ghana’s educational landscape, addressing a longstanding issue where over 100,000 students annually could not continue to SHS due to financial constraints.
He also acknowledged that not every manifesto goal has been met, but emphasized that his administration is committed to fulfilling the remaining promises. Expressing gratitude to the people of Western North for their support, President Akufo-Addo reassured them of his dedication to the nation’s development and outlined the government’s focus on completing ongoing projects.
In conclusion, he recognized the continued support of Ghanaians as essential to achieving the administration’s goals and reiterated his pledge to improve the country’s future.
