Police crackdown on toy gun menace: 26 arrested

In a swift response to the growing trend of brandishing and indiscriminate firing of toy guns in public places, the Ghana Police Service has arrested 26 persons. The suspects are currently cooperating with investigators and will soon face justice in court, according to a statement from the security service.

As part of the police investigation, a quantity of toy guns has been confiscated from the suspects. The police have also launched special operations to apprehend others involved in this menace, which is becoming increasingly prevalent in certain parts of the country.

The Ghana Police Service is cautioning the youth to refrain from this behavior, as it constitutes a breach of the peace and is punishable under section 207 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29). The police reassure the public that they will take all necessary measures to maintain peace and order in the country.
