Parliament has given its approval to the first group of ministerial nominees appointed by President John Dramani Mahama after a thorough vetting and debate process.
The approved appointees are:
- Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson as Minister for Finance
- John Jinapor as Minister for Energy
- Dr. Dominic Ayine as Attorney General and Minister for Justice
The Appointments Committee conducted the vetting on Monday, January 13, 2025, carefully evaluating the nominees’ qualifications, experience, and proposed strategies for their new roles.
Following the vetting, the committee submitted its report to the House for consideration. The plenary session featured extensive discussions on the nominees’ abilities and their plans to tackle key national issues.
After the debates, Members of Parliament voted to confirm their appointments, clearing the way for the nominees to assume their respective positions.
This approval represents a significant step in President Mahama’s efforts to assemble a capable team to implement his administration’s agenda.
