A police officer, Detective Corporal Baba Amando Ibrahim, has been interdicted with immediate effect for professional misconduct. The officer, stationed at Tuna Police Station in the Savannah Region, was caught on camera assaulting a member of the public.

The Ghana Police Service has taken swift action to address the situation, pending a thorough investigation into the officer’s conduct. This move is in line with Police Service Regulations, which emphasize the importance of maintaining public trust and upholding the highest standards of professionalism.

A statement released by the Police Service says the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) has reached out to the victim’s family, offering support and assurance. The IGP has also directed the Savannah Regional Police Commander to work closely with the family to address their concerns.
