JAMAN NORTH: Bomakire community unites at Gboner Festival, emphasizes unity and tradition

The people of Bomakire recently gathered to celebrate the annual Gboner festival, a vibrant display of African culture and identity. Held on November 9th, the event featured traditional drumming, chants, and merrymaking, culminating in a grand durbar.

The Gboner festival is just one example of the many vibrant celebrations across the country defining national identity and showcasing cultural uniqueness.

This year’s celebration was particularly significant, as the Chairman of the event, Stephen Kwadjo Mensah, emphasized the importance of unity among the community.
He cautioned that disputes and ethnic differences could undermine the community’s peace.

The Gboner festival offers a platform for the people to come together, strengthen bonds, and celebrate their heritage.
As the elections approach, the Jaaman North constituency NDC chairman, Sah Abraham, seized the opportunity to emphasize the crucial need for peace and stability before, during, and after the elections.

The first vice chairman for the NPP, Sie Kwabena Simon, on his part, urged the youth to prioritise their safety ahead of the elections. According to him, politics is not about chaos but expression of interest.
