GHS Confirms 37 New Mpox Cases; National Tally Hits 409

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has confirmed 37 new cases of Mpox, bringing the country’s total to 409 as of August 14, 2025.

Health officials say two patients are currently on admission, while the death toll remains at one.

Mpox is a viral disease spread through close contact with infected individuals, animals, or contaminated materials. Its symptoms include fever, rash, swollen lymph nodes, muscle aches, back pain, headaches, and fatigue.

In light of the rising cases, the GHS is urging the public to strictly adhere to preventive measures such as regular handwashing, avoiding physical contact with individuals who have unexplained rashes, and promptly reporting suspected cases to the nearest health facility.
