GES Outlines Roadmap and Choice Confirmation Process for 2025 School Placement

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released a detailed roadmap for the 2025 school placement exercise, following the release of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results.

Speaking at a press briefing in Accra, the Director-General of GES, Professor Ernest Kofi Davis, said the roadmap is designed to ensure a smooth and transparent placement process for all successful candidates.

“The Ministry is ready for the placement process and asks candidates and the public to remain calm. We are committed to making this a smooth and successful transition for all,” Prof. Davis assured.

As part of measures to guarantee accuracy, the Secretariat has introduced a choice confirmation process running from August 27 to September 1, 2025. This will allow candidates to verify and correct any errors related to their gender, school, or program choices.

Prof. Davis encouraged students and guardians to take advantage of the process through the official portal www.cssps.gov.gh, where an explainer video will also be available to guide users.

The full roadmap for the placement exercise is as follows:

  • August 23, 2025: BECE results released
  • August 27 – September 1, 2025: Text confirmation of school choices
  • September 15, 2025: Placement results published online
  • September 16, 2025: Call centers and resolution centers activated
  • October 18 – 20, 2025: Reopening of schools for first-year students

Prof. Davis said the GES is fully prepared to handle the placement exercise and has put in place call and resolution centers to address any challenges that may arise.
