Dumsor: Minority leader demands urgent briefing on power outages

Minority Leader Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin is calling for urgent action from the Energy Minister, John Jinapor, to address the recent power outages plaguing the country.

The MP is demanding that the minister appear before parliament to explain the situation, emphasizing that the outages are exacerbating the struggles of citizens and students who rely on electricity for daily activities.

Speaking on the floor of parliament, Afenyo-Markin stressed that the Energy Minister must provide explanations for the power outages, which have worsened the suffering of many Ghanaians. Furthermore, he’s expressing concern over the absence of streetlights on the road leading to the Jubilee House, citing this as a threat to national security.

The Minority Leader is also seeking a briefing from the Greater Accra Regional Minister on the non-functional streetlights, despite previous promises to maintain them.
