Residents of Aworoano in the Techiman North District of the Bono East Region, are at their wit’s end due to the numerous challenges plaguing their community. The daily struggles faced by residents have been brought to the fore, with many calling on the government to intervene.
According to reports, the community’s roads have been in a deplorable state for years, making mobility a significant challenge, especially during the rainy season. This has resulted in difficulties for vulnerable individuals such as pregnant women, school children, and patients.
To compound the issue, parts of the community are experiencing erratic power supply, leaving residents in darkness. Rauf Ali, a resident, shared his frustrating experience with Globenews.

“The roads are in a terrible state, and it’s affecting our daily lives. We can’t even move freely during the rainy season. We’re pleading with the government to come to our aid and fix these roads,” he said.

Furthermore, poor internet connectivity in the area has exacerbated the challenges faced by residents. The community’s assembly member, David Sontey, echoed the residents’ concerns, stating, “I’ve received numerous complaints from residents, and it’s clear that we need urgent intervention. We’re calling on the government to provide us with basic amenities like decent roads, reliable electricity, and internet connectivity.”

The residents are finding it difficult to access basic services, including healthcare and education, due to the poor state of the roads.
The community is hopeful that the government will heed their call and provide them with the necessary support to address their challenges.
