
The Northern Regional Police Command has launched an investigation into the deaths of two women whose bodies were discovered in a room at Cab Hospitality Hotel in Tamale.
According to the Police, the incident was reported by the hotel’s management on Monday, August 3, 2026, after the two women, believed to be nationals of Benin, were found unresponsive in their room.
In a statement, the Police said the bodies had been conveyed to the Tamale Teaching Hospital Mortuary for preservation and a post-mortem examination.
“The bodies were subsequently conveyed to the Tamale Teaching Hospital Mortuary for preservation and a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death,” the Police stated.

To support the investigation, the Inspector-General of Police has deployed a special team from the Police Headquarters, comprising investigators, intelligence officers, and crime scene experts, to work with the Northern Regional Police Command.
The Police are also appealing to the public to provide any information that could assist in establishing the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
“Members of the public with credible information on the incident are encouraged to call the Police Emergency Numbers, 191/18555, or report to the nearest Police Station,” the statement said.
