Former Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of the Overlord of Dagbon, Ndan Ya-Na Abukari II, describing his death as a great loss to the Dagbon Kingdom and Ghana.
In a condolence message issued on Monday, July 13, 2026, Dr. Bawumia extended his heartfelt sympathies to the chiefs, elders, and people of Dagbon following the demise of the revered traditional ruler.
He praised the late Ya-Na for his wisdom, patience, and unifying leadership, noting that his reign helped strengthen peace, unity, and prosperity in Dagbon during a significant period in the kingdom’s history.
