The Western North Regional Peace Council has appealed for calm and restraint following a fatal shooting incident at Sefwi Sayerano in the Juaboso District.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, the Council expressed concern over the incident, which occurred on Tuesday, July 7, and extended condolences to the families of those who lost their lives while wishing injured persons a speedy recovery.
The Council has called on the security agencies and relevant authorities to conduct a thorough, impartial, and transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting to ensure justice is served.
It further urged chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, and residents of Sayerano and surrounding communities to remain calm and allow state institutions to handle the matter without interference.
The Peace Council cautioned against any acts of retaliation, vigilantism, or destruction of property, warning that such actions could worsen tensions and undermine efforts to achieve justice.
It commended local leaders and traditional authorities for their role in maintaining calm after the incident and encouraged continued dialogue among security agencies, residents, and other stakeholders.
The Council said it is closely monitoring developments and remains committed to supporting efforts to restore peace and stability in Sefwi Sayerano and the wider Juaboso District.
