Western North Peace Council Calls for Calm After Fatal Shooting in Sefwi Sayerano

The Western North Regional Peace Council has appealed for calm and restraint following a fatal shooting incident at Sefwi Sayerano in the Juaboso District.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, the Council expressed concern over the incident, which occurred on Tuesday, July 7, and extended condolences to the families of those who lost their lives while wishing injured persons a speedy recovery.

The Council has called on the security agencies and relevant authorities to conduct a thorough, impartial, and transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting to ensure justice is served.

It further urged chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, and residents of Sayerano and surrounding communities to remain calm and allow state institutions to handle the matter without interference.

The Peace Council cautioned against any acts of retaliation, vigilantism, or destruction of property, warning that such actions could worsen tensions and undermine efforts to achieve justice.
