A 40-year-old woman, identified as Auntie Esi, has allegedly killed her husband following a dispute over proceeds from charcoal sales at Ekumfi Asaman in the Ekumfi District of the Central Region.
The deceased, Kweku Blankson, was reportedly attacked while he was asleep after tensions between the couple escalated.
According to sources, the couple were farmers who also produced and sold charcoal within their community. The conflict is said to have begun a week ago, when the woman accused her husband of withholding a larger share of the money earned from their charcoal business.
Residents indicated that the disagreement turned heated, during which the deceased allegedly assaulted his wife. Later that night, in what is believed to be a retaliatory act, the woman allegedly attacked her husband while he was asleep, leading to his death.
The incident has left the community in shock, and authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
