Four persons injured as two vehicles collided at the Kotokoraba market in Cape Coast

Four individuals have sustained injuries following a collision between two vehicles at Kotokoraba market in Cape Coast. The accident involved a Toyota Echo taxi cab with registration number GW 5934-14 and a Samsung Yamouzine truck with registration number CR 487-18 on March,11.

Both vehicles were descending the Kotokuraba bypass slope to join the Mfantsipim–Kotokuraba stretch of the road when the accident occurred in front of GT Bank.

Four persons including three males and one female sustained various degrees of injuries. The victims were rescued and transported to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital and the Ewim Polyclinic before the arrival of the fire personnel.

The Toyota Echo taxi cab was completely damaged, while the Samsung Yamouzine truck was partially damaged.

The cause of the accident is yet to be identified, but eyewitnesses suspect a brake failure on the part of the Yamouzine truck. The Metropolitan Fire Station Firefighters who arrived after the victims had been rushed to the hospital cleared the debris to enable traffic flow and to prevent another emergency.
