Terror Attack in Burkina Faso: Truck Carrying Ghanaian Tomato Traders Hit Near Titao as Ghana Embassy Engages Burkinabè Authorities for Details and Identification of Victims

The Government of Ghana says it has received disturbing reports that a truck carrying Ghanaian tomato traders has been caught in a terrorist attack in Burkina Faso.

In a statement issued on Sunday, 15 February 2026, the Minister for the Interior and National Security, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, said the incident occurred on Saturday, 14 February, at Titao in Burkina Faso, and involved a truck transporting tomato traders from Ghana.

He noted that the Ghana Embassy in Burkina Faso is currently liaising with Burkinabè authorities to visit the attack scene to gather details and help identify any Ghanaians affected in the incident.​

The statement added that the Government will provide further information to the public as and when confirmed details become available.
