Ashaiman MP Announces Major Development Projects Underway

The Member of Parliament for Ashaiman, Ernest Norgbey, has revealed that funds have been secured to commence several long-awaited development projects across the constituency.

Speaking at a community engagement, Mr. Norgbey explained that Ashaiman suffered years of neglect during the opposition period, with minimal infrastructural investment due to its strong affiliation with the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He, however, assured residents that the narrative is changing, emphasizing that with the NDC now in power, accelerated development is imminent.

“Both parents are in the kitchen now,” he remarked, symbolizing the alignment between the central government and the constituency’s political leadership.

According to the MP, key projects, including road construction, school infrastructure, maternity blocks, and a 24-hour market facility, have all received approval and funding, with work expected to begin soon. He added that most of these projects are projected for completion by the first quarter of next year.

On security, Mr. Norgbey addressed concerns over reports linking Ashaiman to rising crime, clarifying that many of the major incidents attributed to the area actually occur outside the municipality.

He urged the media to be accurate in their reporting to protect the image of the constituency.

“The crime rate in Ashaiman has significantly reduced. What we mostly experience now are minor theft cases, just like in any other community,” he stated.
