The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Awutu Senya East, Seth Sabah Sewornoo-Banini, has underscored that decentralization remains the cornerstone of effective governance and the future of local administration.

Speaking to Globe News correspondent Samuel Addo during a two-day capacity-building workshop for assembly and unit committee members in Kasoa, the MCE emphasized the vital role these local representatives play in advancing grassroots development and participatory governance.

The workshop, organized by the Awutu Senya East Municipal Assembly, seeks to enhance the knowledge and operational skills of participants to ensure improved service delivery and accountable leadership at the community level.

The MCE stressed that well-trained and knowledgeable assembly members are key to promoting transparency, responsiveness, and development in local governance.

A lecturer at the Institute of Local Government and resource person at the workshop, Mr. Felix Amakye, reinforced the MCE’s remarks, describing the roles of assembly and unit committee members as indispensable to the success of local governance.
