The Chief Executive Officer of Eagle Eyesight Spirit, Mr. Patrick Ndego, has raised alarm over ongoing large-scale sand winning activities at the Gomoa Fetteh Beach, warning that the practice poses a grave threat to more than 3,000 households.
According to Mr. Ndego, the illegal operations, allegedly masterminded by Mr. Charles Graham, also known as Kwasi Alhaji, and Anthony Annan, popularly called Nii Bokoboko, have severely weakened the sea defense system in the area. He cautioned that the destruction has placed coastal towns such as Fetteh, Kakraba, Tuba, and parts of Kasoa at risk of devastating floods.
“If urgent action is not taken, we may soon be faced with a disaster that could displace thousands of families,” Mr. Ndego warned.

He further appealed to the Inspector General of Police, the National Security Coordinator, and President John Dramani Mahama to intervene immediately by ensuring the arrest and prosecution of the individuals behind the activity, stressing that lives and property are at stake.
Mr. Ndego also alleged that the suspects boast of connections to high-ranking government officials, which they believe shields them from arrest and prosecution. He noted that this sense of impunity has emboldened them to continue their operations despite the looming dangers.
The warning underscores the urgent need for swift government intervention to halt the activity, safeguard coastal communities, and hold perpetrators accountable.
