Nursing Trainees Get 6-Month Allowance as President Mahama Fulfills Promise

Nursing trainees are receiving a six-month allowance as President John Dramani Mahama fulfills a campaign promise. Specifically, the Ministry of Health has confirmed the disbursement of GHC 462 million to support training allowances for 120,000 nursing students nationwide.

This payment is part of a broader government initiative to provide financial support to students in Nurses Training Colleges. Consequently, the Ministry considers this a significant step in improving nursing trainees’ welfare and sustaining future health professionals’ motivation.

Furthermore, it aligns with efforts to strengthen Ghana’s health sector by supporting critical human resources during training.

The Ministry extends its gratitude to President Mahama for fulfilling his promise and appreciates stakeholders involved in facilitating the fund’s release and distribution.

Moving forward, the Ministry says it remains committed to collaborating with nursing institutions for quality healthcare education.
