The fate of Ghana’s end-of-year 15% inflation target hung in the balance as the monthly inflation rose from 22.1% in October to 23% in November, marking the third consecutive time in a roll. This was predominantly driven by rising costs of staples such as vegetables, tubers, and plantains.
At a press briefing in Accra on Wednesday, December 4, Government Statistician, Prof. Samuel Kobina Anim announced that the Consumer Price Index for November 2024 stood at 243.9, compared to 198.2 in November 2023. This means that the general price levels of goods and services have increased by 23.0% relative to the same period last year.
