Centre for Learning and Childhood Development Ghana hosts games for children with disabilities

The Centre for Learning and Childhood Development Ghana, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving children’s survival and development, has organized games and activities for children with disabilities. This initiative aims to ensure equity and equality for these children and align with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, emphasizing equal opportunities and participation for all.

According to Douglas Agyapong, the organization’s physiotherapist, the organization encourages fathers to actively support their children with disabilities, emphasizing that a child’s disability should never be a reason for fathers to abandon their families. He encourages men to take responsibility and be supportive of their children’s needs.

“A child’s disability should never be a reason for fathers to abandon their families. We encourage men to take responsibility and be supportive of their children’s needs, he said.”

Some parents of the participating children with disabilities in the organization’s activities shared their heartfelt thoughts and feelings.

“It’s not easy raising a child with disabilities, but we’re not ashamed. We’re proud of our children’s unique abilities and strengths,” one parent expressed.
