56 Community Police Assistants and 17 Fire Safety Personnel Pass Out in Awutu Senya East

Seventy-three recruits have officially passed out in Awutu Senya East, Central Region, under the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) programme. The batch included 56 Community Police Assistants and 17 Fire Safety Personnel, who successfully completed weeks of intensive training supervised by the Central East Regional Police Command and the Ghana National Fire Service.

Speaking at the ceremony, YEA Municipal Director, Mr. Frederick Adasu, assured the recruits of timely salary payments. He, however, cautioned them to maintain discipline and warned that anyone found engaging in extortion would be dismissed.

He added that the training is being rolled out in phases, with the next batch expected soon. Other modules under the programme include Prison Assistants and Ambulance Assistants.

The Central East Regional Police Commander, COP Stephen Nchor, highlighted the importance of the new recruits in maintaining law and order in Kasoa and surrounding areas. He urged them to respect the law, safeguard the rights of citizens, and avoid compromising their integrity.

The Municipal Chief Executive of Awutu Senya East, Seth Sabah Sewornoo-Banini, encouraged the recruits to remain dedicated and committed to their duties. He further assured that hardworking personnel would be considered for permanent absorption into the mainstream security services based on recommendations from their commanders.

The passing-out exercise forms part of government’s efforts to reduce youth unemployment while strengthening community policing and fire safety initiatives in the municipality.
